Paris Fashion Week Diary

After the frenzy of New York and Milan, the much anticipated Paris Fashion Week began without a moment to spare. But who can complain when this beautiful sight greets you on arrival.

Louis Vuitton in Paris

One of the personal highlights for me during this PFW has to be The Row’s very exclusive show and dinner in a chateau in the outskirts of Paris. This is the first time the brand is showing in Paris instead of New York, and it was out to impress in an extravagant yet elegant way akin to the brand’s DNA. The invitation came with a beautiful hand drawn map of the destination, and our car picks us up promptly in the late afternoon with champagne and snacks in tow. After a leisurely hour-long drive, we arrive at the stunning Chateau de Courances, set on immaculately manicured grounds, flanked by a lake with autumnal leaves falling. The 100 or so guests sat in clusters around the garden with wine and hors d’oeuvres as the models descended upon us in undeniably the best collection from The Row yet. This is followed by a stroll along the pristine grounds at sunset, then a splendid yet intimate dinner where we ate and drank late into the night before our cars took us back to the city. This magnificent evening mirrors the attention to detail and luxuriousness of the brand, and truly a night to remember, especially as it was a much welcomed break from the hustle and bustle of a regular fashion week day.

A totally different atmosphere at Balmain!

Balmain

The show venue was absolute mayhem as the Balmain show is a celebrity favourite. I sat right behind Kris Jenner and Joe Jonas and watched them cheer on daughter and (ex) girlfriend, the two models of the moment Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid.

The next day was another highly anticipated show, the always spectacular Dior! And of course with Raf Simons one had to expect something magnificent and floral, but little did I expect that he would create an entire MOUNTAIN of delphiniums! This magical, elaborate blue and purple floral behemoth almost dwarfs the Pyramid at the Louvre, and everyone present was completely enthralled.

And last but certainly not least, the epic finale to my Paris Fashion Week journey and the entire fashion month – Louis Vuitton. The show was held at the magnificent, Frank Gehry designed, Louis Vuitton Fondation. The stunning architecture could not be a more fitting venue for the futuristic vibes of the new season. And the show was followed by a private tour of the highlights of the foundation, where we saw some incredible art. But truly, the most mindblowing art there is the building itself. It is an absolute must-see when you’re in Paris!
